Recently I pulled on my reef line and found myself staring at the bitter end. I've determined that to thread the line I have to remove the gooseneck. How to do without damaging aluminum extrusion? I tried using 16ga. wire to thread boom to no avail. Profanity followed shortly thereafter. After removing the two screws on either side of the gooseneck, I couldn't get it to budge. Your help is appreciated.

The gooseneck casting is secured to the boom with just 2 screws.

Remove those and the whole assembly will slide out with a bit of persuasion.

Get some electrician's fish tape to push the reefing line through.

If the gooseneck is seized by corrosion, try spraying some wd-40 and let it sit for awhile.
