Hi all, long time lurker, first time poster. I am now the proud owner of a 1981 cat25 SK. Had the boat inspected and the work list is long but the boat is solid above and below the water line. During the purge and cleaning i noticed that the cabin sole is squishy and when stepping on it i can hear water between the plywood and the gelcote (this is located inbetwen the dinette and the couch? MY question for the all knowing eyes on the forum is what is underneath the cabin sole? I want to cut this section(aprox 8"x12") out to have access to this part of the bilge and install an access board so it look like it was there on purpose? does any one have pictures of what is under this area? My expectations are that i will have a space between the liner and the hull.
Welcome to the forum. It might help if you tell us some info on your layout. You say Dinette, That would make it the top left layout in this photo. Is this correct?
So did you remove the wood covers that are under the dinette seat cushions. That will expose the lowest part of the bilge and the keel bolts. maybe with a mirror you will be able to look under the walkway and see whats going on.
