Planning to relocate to Phoenix in the coming months . . . where does one sail in that part of the country?

If you are trailering Ode I hope I can put you up for a night. Interstate 35 brings a nice diagonal from KC to Wichita and then US 54 continues that diagonal to Tucumcari New Mexico. My home is humble but I can promise good food.

Wow Frank, what a generous offer! Actually, I have verbal sales agreement for OJ . . . looking to simplify my life at this stage. I might be searching for a boat to crew on - assuming there are any sailor types within a reasonable distance of Phoenix.

Close in is Pleasant Lake which also hosts the Sailboat Shop. Lots of sailers use this lake, unfortunately in summer months so do the powerboats.

Roosevelt Lake is a good option that is an hour and half or so from town.

If you are willing to drive further the Colorado river lakes offer some good opportunities. 4 hours to the South is Puerto Penasco, Mexico (we keep our boat there) on the Sea of Cortez. Fleet #7 is 6 hours West in San Diego, Ca.

What are the winds and temperatures (water and air) like at Lake Pleasant, at Easter time? We're visiting in-laws in SUN CITY at that time.

We were visiting at Christmas few years ago. And for those who might remember, the 1990 Catalina 25 "Kismet", that was rolled on the highway, was at the Sailboat Shop. It was getting worked on by a private individual. Is it still there?

Don't know about 'Kismet'repair progress, but I do remember that accident... ouch!

Air temps at Easter should be in the 80-90 degree range not sure about water temps. Still too cold for me to get in though.
