Frank,

Just looked them up online, they are about 40 minutes away from here. I tried the number and apparently they are still in business. Try

Sorry to hear of your troubles...I hope everything works out for you.

I'm always little leary of (and don't do business with) internet sites that only list a local phone number.

Hey, hold the phone, problem solved. I was calling 9000 instead of 9100! Duane, thanks to your post I got through to Boatersland.com and they were about to send me another unit. Instead, I'm getting the MAX 15 from them instead of the 10 and for less money.

Lesson learned: patience, patience, patience.

suggest you go back and edit the original post OR ask the web master to delete this entire thread. Don't want to slander a business trying their best.

Frankly Frank (from Frank), I picked 'em 'cause they had the lowest price for the unit I could find. So I'm a cheap S.O.B., sue me

Here's the web site:

Looks good to me. I've bookmarked it for future reference. Thanks for sharing.

Now wasn't that cathartic.
I searched for VC 17 right after I read your post and Boatersland.com came up as the cheapest. I had not read your retraction yet so I found it a Defender for about the same price, Defender is usually a good price and always safe.

I noticed when looking up their phone number that I had been there before. They pop up quite often when using froogle.com

Which I recommend quite highly

I'm probally not as frugle as I should be. I look for good prices, but if the difference is minimal between a place I have done business, like Defender, and an unknown or little known, I go with the company I know. The heartburn isn't worth the few bucks IMO. Service is also important to me, I've bought stuff at places that I know I could get for less elsewhere, but I've gotten help in chosing the right stuff from them, so I give them my business.
