Hi, maybe someone can help me with that, my cradle has a moving part exactly where the keel rests, it’s freely swinging and i don’t understand why it’s not soldered on like the one at the back of the keel?

Yes it’s always elevated on blocks but if i don’t put a block under the swinging part the whole boat rests on the last 12” of the keel and the front cross-bar just rests loose underneath the keel, i wonder how the could leave that important part of the cradle to hold on screws?

I can't tell for sure from the photo, but the keel support on my EZ Loader trailer could be lowered out from under the fin keel by unscrewing long screws. By lowering it, I could paint the bottom of the keel. Perhaps the reason might be similar for your cradle. Cradles are commonly set on big timbers, to elevate them off the ground and prevent them from rusting and to adjust for uneven ground. If the cradle is elevated, perhaps the support can be lowered to permit painting under the keel.
