But, as we know, retrieving anything from that locker in the older models, with the fuel tank ledge right beneath the hatch, can be a bit difficult so I really can't imagine pulling an outboard out even if one could stow it down there in the first place. Is that a realistic option in the later models? But I found the Wikipedia description of "lazarette" especially interesting. I sincerely hope that I never have to use the dumpster for its historical purpose. Yes, you would have to be cautious about ventilating it, indeed!
