Just thought I would reach out
As my cable is frozen and they no longer manufactured the single cable. Any ideas?
Yes I will probably go to tiller BUT. I still want this thing to work.even if it is off the boat.
Thank you.

Has Anyone used universal cable to replace original cable?

When I bought my boat, it had the same situation, and the previous owner had thrown a tiller at the problem, working around the existing Edson mount - awkward. I contacted Edson, bought the "pull-pull" upgrade (~$600), and it's been like having power steering for the past 5 years. My C22 had a tiller and it seemed I was always banging knees and giving up too much cockpit space. The wheel is very easy on the back, and pretty much anyone I put on the helm is competent in just a few minutes... in fact, my very young grandsons can steer the boat when standing on a step I keep aboard.
