Capri 25 Fleet Winter 2019-2020
Well that wasnt very effective, I sent out the price list without the 20% Fleet discount. Here is the revised price list.
Harry
First, thank all of you for your great support of our sails over many years! In our ongoing development to provide you the best Capri 25 sails possible this year we have also been able to hold a few sails to very small price increases, while spinnakers are slightly less than last year!
The biggest new development is our new Fusion technology. In this process the membrane starts out almost the same as our standard and TFT sails except using a new type of more flexible film. One layer is laid down, the yarns are laid on, and then a top layer of film. The big difference is that instead of all being glued together like conventional composite sails the layers in these membranes are fused together to make one structure. At that point there is nothing to delaminate because there are no separate layers! You may have seen two of these genoas at the Star of the North Regatta, very visible because of their solid black color. In the newest generation of this technology Carbon nanotubes are added to the film material which add extra durability and strength to the sail. The sails come with both a lower and an upper telltale window for viewing the back-side telltales. The sails are very slightly lighter and more flexible. All this should give better durability than the standard film/film sails. At his point I dont know if the durability will be as good as the TFT sails just because we wont know that until some of them are 3 to 4 years old. The Fusion sails are also less expensive than the TFT sails, the option for it is 1/2 the option cost of TFT.
We are still offering the option of our TFT finish, a layer of a very light skin taffeta on the outside of both sides of the sail. The TFT sails are holding up very well as it gives you a sail with no exposed mylar windows. Both the Fusion and TFT sails still need spreader and stanchion patches.
I also continue to make very small changes to our spinnakers. For this year the maximum girth point has been moved up 2% to give a bit more area in the top of the sail.
These sails have to be ordered by November 22nd because I have to get orders in before the end of November to get the discount our material suppliers are offering, which make these prices and your discount possible.
Please call me at 949-275-3302 or email to hp@epsails.com to order or with any questions.
