I had wanted to buy a new rudder for this season, I have the original first generation 1996 rudder. I understand from comments that a Second Generation WB rudder can be modified? I searched the forums and only came up to references that it could be done, but no actual details. Wondering if anyone has a second generation that is surplus.

Thanks!

Arlyn Stewart had done a lot with his 2nd generation rudder, but his website seems to have gone offline and the Internet Archive apparently didn’t save a copy of his write-up of his mods—closest I can get is https://web.archive.org/web/20130728013710/http://pages.suddenlink.net/arlyn/sailing/mods.html.

RudderCraft does sell an aftermarket kick-up rudder, but costs nearly $500.

Where in Utah do you sail? Deer Creek? I live in Lehi—planning a purchase in a couple of years, but still considering venues.
