Posted - 12/05/2022 : 13:19:06 After riding out Hurricane Ian and TS Nicole, I finally got to my C25 after 2 months of flood stage on the St. John's River in Florida. Now I cannot insert the key into the ignition switch. Any suggestions?

Posted - 12/06/2022 : 21:20:38 Hello Douglas, it seems like the bad weather and flooding conditions prevented you from accessing your boat. Sorry to hear. Aside from the ignition key problem, did you notice any other damage or issues? E.g.: sail damage, broken rigging, leaking windows or crib boards, flooding in the bilge? You may have a few alternatives for repairs: pick out any foreign materials from the key hole using a stiff wire or a large needle, flood the keyhole with WD-40 or another solvent, call a locksmith, remove and replace the key switch, or disconnect the key switch and install a starter switch inside the cabin. It’s actually good to learn that with all the crazy weather, there’s not any more damage. By the way, this section of the forum is for folks who wish to buy and sell their boats and other boaty stuff. Since you mentioned you have a C-25, you might want to post in the C-25 forum or the general forum. Nonetheless, thanks for posting on this site, and welcome to this group.
